She stood there with her sign: “Abortion Stops A Beating Heart—That’s Killing.”
On Wednesday, October 10, 2012, I was doing my usual protests against abortion with my graphic signs, on Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Ontario, when a whole group of students arrived and gathered near the ‘Eternal Flame’.
All of a sudden one of the students, a young teenage girl stood by my side holding out a sign. I said to her: “What brings you here?” (I had not yet read her small sign.) She was quick to reply: “I also want to protest against abortion, because ‘abortion stops a beating heart and that’s killing a baby!”
Wow! I said to her: “You are a very pleasant surprise and you are most welcome here with me, to protest against abortion.” I asked to see her sign. As I looked at it she said: “That baby in the mother’s womb has a beating heart, to abort it is to kill a human being.”
She went on to say that just because it is so small and in the womb and not ‘out here’ with us, it is just as much ‘alive’ as us.
“The ‘location’ of the baby does not matter” she said. I was deeply moved by her convictions and her knowledge about abortion. I could see that for a young teenager, she was much better informed than most people, especially the Ontario Minister of Education, ‘Laurel Broten’ who said very recently: “Catholic Schools can no longer teach that abortion is wrong.” (c.f: www.LifeSiteNews.com , October 10, 2012: “Laurel Broten said that Bill 13, the Government’s controversial ‘anti-bullying’ Law, prohibits ‘misogyny’.”)
In my opinion, the Minister of Education needs to learn the wisdom of “Life” from one of her students, that is to say that and I quote Jazzmin: “Abortion stops a beating heart—that’s killing.” Please pray for her, for a change of heart.
Note: Before I continue on, I sincerely ask you the reader to write, e-mail, Tweet, etc…to ‘Laurel Broten’ and repeat Jazzmin’s message to her. You may contact her at:

We continued discussing pro-life apologetics when Jazzmin said to me: “There is one scenario however where making a decision of whether or not to keep the baby would be very hard.” I said: “What’s that?” She replied: “If a pregnant woman had to choose between her life or the baby’s, in order to stay alive.”
I replied: “Yes, that would be an extremely difficult decision to make. I can tell you of one woman, an Italian doctor, Dr. Gianna Beretta Molla, (1922-1962) who had cancer and when face to face with this ‘choice’ of it’s ‘me or the baby’, she choose to give up her life to let her baby live. Today she is known as ‘Saint Gianna Beretta Molla’ (cf: www.saintgianna.org ) Saint Gianna’s baby became a doctor like her mom.
Jazzmin looked at me very soberly and said: “If I was in that situation, to have to choose between my life and my baby’s, I would let my baby live. After all I have already lived for many years and my child would be just beginning her life.”
I was so moved, so touched to see a teenager speak with such altruism and such selflessness. If she chooses marriage as a vocation, her husband and her children will be truly blessed to have a wife and mother who understands what it is to give of ‘self’ for ‘others’.
Jazzmin, in my opinion represents what a true-blue pro-lifer and mother is all about. She is a total contrast to so many women and youth of today who are saying: “It’s ‘my’ body, ‘my’ choice—so self-centered and egoistical.
As I told her on the ‘Hill’, when she told me that many of your friends were against her: “You have guts, you have courage, my girl, keep standing firm in your convictions.”
She, no doubt in the course of her life, will be used by God to let many people know that life is precious and Sacred.and that “Abortion stops a beating heart—that’s killing.”
Jazzmin strikes me as a woman who is not afraid to speak out and defend her pro-life beliefs. Just before she left me, I made her a proposition which I hope that she will accept.
I asked her to write to me and send me an e-mail about our meeting together on Parliament Hill and her pro-life beliefs. I also said that I would put it on my blog, on my website www.aborterrorism.ca , for the world to hear her message, a message of Life and not Death of the unborn baby, a human being, even though we don’t ‘see’ it and it lives in a ‘different’ location than us.
